Theresa’s mission is to support people and teams who work internationally with focus areas on cross-cultural competence, high performance teams and virtual teamwork. In addition, she consults with organizations to create a culture that enables cross-border virtual teams to thrive.
Theresa developed her awareness of the importance of cultural competence as a business asset while working in various management positions for multinational companies. In her work as a consultant with THT, Theresa’s clients have included global organizations such as Tetra Pak, DSM, Philips, Generali Group, Rolls-Royce, GE Healthcare and Prudential specifically facilitating post-merger cultural development, in-house management development trainings and multi-cultural, virtual team development.
Theresa is the author of the book Virtual Teams Across Cultures: Create Successful Teams Around the World, with a foreword by Fons Trompenaars. The book explains why working virtually is different, how cultural diversity impacts virtual work, and what a team can do to shift to a higher level of performance. As Fons explained, “Theresa has examined cultural diversity where it currently happens, in the virtual team. A masterpiece of research, stories and practical advice.” Theresa is fluent in English and lives in the Netherlands.
Theresa’s clients are multinationals and have included Tetra Pak, Generali, DSM, Boehringer Ingelheim, Pepsico, amongst others. Often she is included in corporate academies, leadership development programs, or requested for teams who need support. She partners with other professionals in her network to create the synergies for the best solutions for clients, exemplifying the benefits of diverse ideas.
Prior to associating with THT, Theresa led acquisition and post-integration M&A projects in Central and Eastern Europe, software implementations, and other strategic and operational projects. Due to her business background, she has a practical approach to the learning and understanding of the impact of culture in the business setting.
Theresa is originally from the US, having received her MBA from University of Michigan, graduating with high distinction. She is currently located in the Netherlands.
