Vincent Merk

Vincent’s main affiliation is with Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) where he works part-time as a senior trainer and coach in professional skills, a lecturer in intercultural management and a Community advisor.

In addition, Vincent has worked as an independent trainer and consultant for about 40 years in intercultural business communication, management and professional mobility for a large range of companies, business schools, universities and consultancies in Europe and beyond. He started his career with a 2-year intercultural project at Philips HQ in Eindhoven.  His specific field of expertise is on managing multinational (virtual) teams as well as on the interface Benelux, France and Germany in cross-cultural management and in professional mobility. He has also been working on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) topics and currently also focusses on Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) issues and the social and intercultural aspects of the Covid pandemic on management and leadership practices in Europe and Asia.

Vincent is the author of many articles on intercultural communication and management and has recently extensively published on D&I issues as well as on social issues related to the Covid pandemic, including a trilogy article about shared experiences, lessons learned and the future of work. Natasha Williams Phatela

Natasha is a seasoned international trainer and consultant in the area of cross cultural management, strategic planning and business development, teambuilding and coaching and has spent over 20 years involved in curriculum design and instruction. Natasha is Dutch Caribbean born in Aruba with Namibian Permanent Residence.

She started her career in the Netherlands at Hollandse Signaalapparaten (formerly Thomson CSF and today known as Thales) where, from 1996-98, she was primarily responsible for coordinating a program establishing the European Policy for Training & Development within six European subsidiaries of the company. At that time, she was also acting training manager for the business and administration courses, supporting line managers in setting up their yearly training plans. In September 1998 she joined KPMG where she worked as a multimedia consultant within eWorkforce. During this period she developed interactive computer-based training products for European clients. Natasha joined Trompenaars Hampden-Turner (then part of KPMG) in 2000 as an intercultural management consultant and trainer working for such clients as: ABN AMRO, Dow Chemical, Stockholm School of Economics, Kongsberg, MTN, Wolters Kluwer, Andersen, Suez Ondeo, M-Real, Exxon Mobile, CSM and United Telecommunication Services (Curacao). She returned to KPMG Netherlands for 2 years as a Senior Business Consultant and Training Manager in 2004 before moving to Lesotho with her family.  In 2013 she became the co-founding partner of the franchise FranklinCovey Namibia.

Natasha currently lives in Namibia, where she founded Grow Training & Advisory Services CC in 2006 to present, with the sole purpose of empowering Namibians and the (business) community to achieve their strategic goals and ambitions, through providing primarily HRD, Programme Management and Organization Development services. Tania has delivered assignment-related intercultural management training programs to senior level executives and their families for over 16 years. Tania has worked with individuals from more than 100 global companies in Singapore, China and the Philippines.

Prior to becoming a Trainer, Tania was an Area Manager for LVMH Watches & Jewellery in Switzerland and Singapore. She studied in Switzerland and Germany; and thereafter worked in various countries in Europe, Latin America and APAC. Tania started her professional career in Europe before relocating to Asia in 2001. She gained extensive cross-cultural experience as an expatriate living and working in Singapore; Beijing, China; and Manila, Philippines, until permanently relocating back to Singapore.

Tania joined a global relocation company in 2003 and worked both as an Intercultural Account Manager overlooking clients in APAC and as a Training Consultant providing Assessment, Cross-Cultural and Repatriation training to executives and their families moving in and out of Asia.

Tania is an ICF certified coach and she completed her certification as an Integral Coach with New Ventures West. She is a Licensee with Trompenaars Hampden-Turner. As such, she can incorporate Dilemma Reconciliation strategies using THT’s proprietary tools within her own training programs. In Singapore, Tania obtained her Advanced Certificate in Training & Assessment (ACTA) from WDA. She is also a certified administrator in MBTI suite instruments.

Barbara Blokpoel

Barbara’s passion lies in helping individuals, groups and teams develop their cross culture competence in order to help clients benefit from the (cultural) value differences they experience in both their professional and private lives.

Born to Dutch parents, Barbara grew up in Canada where she completed degrees in Comparative International Studies and Native (Indigenous) Studies, as well as a Master of Social Work (MSW).  Involved from a young age in international peace organizations, she furthered pursued her interest in cross cultural relations working and living in different parts of Canada, Ecuador and Israel, as well as completing an internship in Kenya. She speaks fluent English and Dutch, as well as moderate French and basic Spanish.

Prior to relocating to the Netherlands, Barbara supervised a variety of national education projects and was an educator for young adults in a variety programs. She has also worked with the Canadian Ministry of Health on various National Workshop projects. 

Barbara worked as a trainer and programme director at Trompenaars Hampden-Turner till 2015 liaising with global corporate clients, national and international educational institutions and international business schools.  In addition, she was also an assistant professor for both the International Business Administration and the Master’s Cross Cultural Management courses at the Vrije University in Amsterdam and co-translated Fons Trompenaars and Ed Voerman’s book, Servant-leadership across cultures.

Riana Schreuders

She obtained her Bachelor’s with Honours, and a Master’s of Commerce with specialisation in Human Resource Management (all cum laude) at the University of Pretoria. Upon completion of her Honours degree, she spent three months working on a CSR project with AIESEC Philippines foundation in Cebu City, the Philippines. Her own experiences of living and working in different countries, and adjusting to culture shock fired her passion to conduct her PhD research on ‘The cultural intelligence and adjustment experiences of self-initiated expatriate women.’

In the field of Human Resource Management, Dr Schreuders has varied experience, and also she has worked as a freelance trainer and assessment psychologist for various large mines in South Africa. In 2009, She joined Trompenaars Hampden-Turner as a consultant/trainer for Trompenaars Hampden-Turner Consulting. where she was responsible for the development and implementation of tailor-made training programmes and the co-facilitation of executive leadership programmes.

Dr Schreuders is currently involved in a research project called WeSoar, which concerns the dilemmas faced by successful female entrepreneurs around the world. This project is a collaboration between three organisations: Synquity, United Success and Trompenaars Hampden-Turner. The project aims to bridge the gap between the academic and corporate world.S

She relocated from South Africa to The Netherlands in 2009. She is a registered Industrial/Organisational Psychologist at the Health Professions Council of South Africa, and she started her academic career as a lecturer at the University of Pretoria in 2005. She has also worked as a researcher and guest lecturer at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and she occasionally lectures at a number of universities of applied sciences in the Netherlands.

She joined the Amsterdam School of International Business as a lecturer in 2013.
